What types of signal lights are there?
Masthead light: The masthead light is a white light that continuously shines in a 225° arc. It is ideally placed along the vessel’s length, providing clarity and visibility from the bow to the stern on both sides of the vessel.
Sidelights: Sidelights include a green light on the starboard side and a red light on the port side. Both lights continuously shine in a 112.5° arc, providing safety and clear identification of the vessel’s direction. Vessels shorter than 20 meters may use a combined sidelights unit.
Stern light: The stern light is a white light that continuously shines in a 135° arc. Positioned near the stern, it ensures visibility of 67.5° on either side of the vessel’s length.
Towing light: The towing light has the same properties as the stern light, providing additional safety during towing operations. This yellow light stands out in specific maritime situations.
All-round light: The all-round light provides continuous light in a 360° arc, making it ideal for indicating the presence of a vessel from all directions.
Flashing light: The flashing light creates flashes at regular intervals with a frequency of 120 flashes or more per minute. This feature makes your vessel highly recognizable, especially in reduced visibility conditions.
